AKRON, Ohio — A 22-year-old DoorDash driver has making a delivery Wednesday night in the Merriman Valley neighborhood has died after he was wounded in what police are calling a “senseless shooting.” Two suspects are in custody in connection with the shooting death of Jaevierre Greer of Akron, police say. Greer was taken Wednesday night to Akron General Medical Center and was listed in critical condition, but he died at 9:43 a.m. Thursday, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on the 1400 block of Timber Trail at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police say. They found Greer wounded in the parking lot. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
