A recent minor league addition for the Padres, infielder Donovan Solano starts ascent to San Diego at Triple-A El Paso
Donovan Solano has begun his ascent. Signed to a minor league deal last week, the 36-year-old veteran on Saturday moved his work from extended spring training to Triple-A El Paso, where he served as the DH in an 11-8 loss to visiting Albuquerque. Solano went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a sacrifice fly for an RBI. The right-handed-hitting infielder paired five homers with a .282/.369/.391 batting line in 134 games with the Twins in 2023. He is a .279/.334/.
Missions 8, Corpus Christi 4: RHP Reggie Lawson allowed a run in 1⅓ innings in earning his first win since retiring in 2022. He followed 4 ⅔ innings of two-run ball from RHP Ryan Bergert, who struck out four against one walk. SS Ray-Patrick Didder drove in two runs on his third homer. 1B Nathan Martorella went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. CF Jakob Marsee went 1-for-3 with an RBI, two walks, a run scored and his eighth steal.
TinCaps 7, Dayton 5: RHP Dylan Lesko matched a career-high with six strikeouts over five innings of three-run ball in a no-decision. He allowed two hits, walked three and hit a batter. C Ethan Salas went 1-for-3 with a double and two walks. CF Lucas Dunn went 2-for-5 with his first homer and 3B Devin Ortiz drove in three runs on three hits, including his second homer. 1B Albert Fabian went 3-for-4, doubled twice and scored four runs.
