The 43rd president plans to campaign for Rep. Liz Cheney as she faces a Trump-endorsed opponent in the Republican primary for the 2022 midterms.
Cheney now sits on the House select committee investigating the events of January 6. She has repeatedly said Trump's claims about the election being"stolen" are false and voted to remove him from office during his second impeachment in January.
Her criticisms of the former president have already cost her politically. Cheney was removed as chair of the House Republican Conference in May and could face a tough fight to keep her seat in 2022.The mash-up of former President George W. Bush and Rep.
