The New York Court of Appeals on Tuesday denied the Trumps’ request to block their interviews in the case, ‘upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved’. With the dismissal, the Trumps have exhausted their appeals and are required to give depositions starting on July 15.
Two lower courts previously rejected the Trumps’ claim that New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation is politically motivated. James’ office claims they have evidence that the Trump Organization misstated its property values to obtain more favorable loans as well as tax breaks.ordered them to testify under oath. The Trumps had until Monday of this week to file for a stay, which has been denied.
