The same injury sidelined Ryu for more than half of last season, but he said Monday night that he did not believe this injury was as serious. Ryu left with two outs in the second inning of a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
The 32-year-old left-hander hurt his groin last May 2 and did not return to the Dodgers until Aug. 15. At the time of last year's injury, Ryu said he previously injured the groin in May 2016.
