After the tease of Patrick Stewart's Professor X in DoctorStrange, a new rumor points to the appearance of Wolverine in the upcoming sequel. Whoever it is, though, it won't be Hugh Jackman in the role.
A new rumor suggests that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will introduce Wolverine to the MCU, but it won't be Hugh Jackman. The sequel, directed by Sam Raimi, will see Doctor Strange open the door to the multiverse after casting a forbidden spell. As seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the multiverse opens the MCU up to every past cinematic variation of their characters, allowing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire to return as Spider-Man.
We will see Wolverine in #DoctorStrangeInTheMultiverseOfMadness but it definitely won’t be Hugh Jackman. With Stewart back as Professor X, it would seem like a natural fit for Jackman to be Wolverine. However, as seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock recognized that Tom Holland's Peter Parker was not the same one he had come to know, which could be the case for Stewart's Xavier and the new Wolverine. As to who will play Wolverine in the potential appearance, that remains to be seen, though rumors have pointed to Daniel Radcliffe possibly being the character.
