“This is a disturbing trend. Whether you are going to a special event or a holiday party please plan your ride home and drive sober.” A total of 114 drivers blew in the “warn” range in 2022, compared to 83 in 2021, and 99 drivers have been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, compared to 107 in 2021.MADD Canada launched its, aiming to remind motorists to drive sober — or plan ahead for a safe ride home if they’re drinking or using cannabis or other substances.

Until Jan. 2, volunteers across Canada will hand out thousands of red ribbons and car decals for people to use as a symbol of their promise to always drive sober and as “a powerful tribute to the hundreds of Canadians killed and thousands injured in crashes” linked to alcohol or drugs each year.Article content
