Later, Disney released another statement announcing the closures of Disney World, Disneyland Paris, and the Disney Cruise Line. "In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our guests and employees, we are proceeding with the closure of our theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Paris Resort, beginning at the close of business on Sunday, March 15, through the end of the month," the statement reads.
This is only the sixth time in Disneyland's history that the park has unexpectedly closed. Other instances included a national day of mourning after President John F. Kennedy's assassination, and closures in the wake of the 1994 Northridge earthquake and 9/11.
