PETALING JAYA: The differing policies on tinted vehicle windows by the Transport Ministry and the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry have caused financial losses to the public and local businesses, says MCA Youth.

The Transport Ministry's policy to allow for darker vehicle window tinting together with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry's additional guidelines have placed businesses and motorists in a tricky spot, said the movement's secretary-general Daniel Wa Wai How.

"Their tendency to run off at the mouth has transformed into something more than an inconvenience for people and local businesses," he said in a statement Thursday . However, he said Loke's announcement had made no mention of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry's statement that industry players had to comply with the guidelines and produce quality window tint films that have Sirim Bhd certification.
