It\u0027s time to get some grown\u002Dups in Ottawa
There was virtually no due diligence, no competing bids and, worse, no need for the contract in the first place, as other government programs could have been used to fill the void. As a result, both Trudeau and Morneau are under investigation for conflict of interest and ethics violations.
It’s important to note that Canada has handled the COVID-19 crisis well, but the job was done by the country’s premiers — who govern the country’s health-care systems — not the prime minister. The WE scandal is strike three for Trudeau, after ethical breaches involving SNC-Lavalin and a junket to the Aga Khan’s private island. Now it’s time to send the Liberal team to the showers, and let people who have had real jobs, run companies or taken business and economics courses in school take control. Canada has fallen victim to the world’s first GQ leader — a telegenic, tailored and scripted individual without credentials who spouts politically correct clichés. It’s hardly surprising that Trudeau and the Kielburgers hooked up. They’ve never met a microphone, camera or a stage they didn’t love. Their inner circles are comprised of marketers, not thinkers or doers. They are all style and no substance. What economic initiatives has Trudeau ever undertaken to build Canada’s economy and underpin living standards? What foreign policy wins has he scored?Article content continued His major foreign policy initiative was to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on a road show a year ago, visiting corrupt members of the United Nations to bribe them into helping him win a useless seat on the UN Security Council. The result? No seat and millions squandered and promised in aid deals. Even worse, as he posed for photos in Africa, Canadians suffered through a damaging and unlawful First Nations crisis involving an approved pipeline and railway barricades that should never have taken place. It’s time to get some grown-ups in Ottawa. The post-COVID debt hangover is reason enough to clear Trudeau’s economically inept crew out of Ottawa as soon as possible. And given Trudeau’s alleged WE malfeasance, his government’s spending spree must be audited and some of its more erroneous pieces of legislation, which will only serve to sabotage Canada’s economy by halting resource development, must be rescinded. Finally, a giant broom must sweep all the green radicals, anti-capitalists and Trudeau fanboys and fangirls out of Ottawa. Canadians deserve a government that will put Canada first, that will steer the economy back and stop runaway spending. It’s been a long, troubling summer, but finally it is time to shed the flakes in Ottawa and bring back some level-headed Canadian solutions to chart Canada’s future.
