But prevention is only one tier of this campaign. Pounder said making sure children know they have someone they can trust is crucial to keeping them safe online. "It's also important for kids to know that if they make a mistake online, the parents and other adults have their back and that message is not said enough to kids," Pounder said.
The campaign will also provide both adults and children with opportunities to speak with law enforcement agents who have experience in the field to help them better understand how it starts. "Those in-person briefings and conversations with agents that have dealt with real cases, I think that's where this, this is really powerful," said Pounder.
