Exclusive: Devon Cole has signed to Arista Records and released her first single, 'W.I.T.C.H.'
can exclusively reveal, and has marked the occasion with the release of the kicky new single “W.I.T.C.H.” on Thursday .
“W.I.T.C.H.,” an acronym for “Woman in Total Control of Herself,” bounces along with a natural confidence that sells the radio-ready hook and puts its feminist message first. “To me, ‘W.I.T.C.H.’ is a song that reclaims the witch as a symbol of women’s resistance,” Cole says in a press statement. “It celebrates women’s strength, autonomy, and rebellion – traits that contradict the patriarchal idea of what a woman should be and how she should behave.
. Cole also released the single “Uncall It” earlier this year prior to “W.I.T.C.H.,” her official Arista debut.
