' left shoulder dislocation is stable, without any unforeseen issues, and he is set to be re-evaluated in five weeks. The Devils announced last week that Hughes suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder in a game against the Seattle Kraken, but a subsequent MRI revealed no further damage, ruling out the need for surgery. He is currently on injured reserve.
The injury occurred near the end of the first period of Tuesday's game against the Kraken. As Hughes was battling for the puck in a corner of the Seattle zone, he was knocked to the ice by the Kraken's Jeremy Lauzon. The 20-year-old appeared to be in immediate pain after the hit but skated off the ice on his own power while cradling his left arm. He did not join his teammates for the start of the second period.
