“We are mindful of the land and history,” said developer Shawn Todd. “You could have done thousands of lots on the property. We are doing 400.
The developers estimate that most of the homes in the Freestone Estates will cost between $5 million and $7 million. Todd Interests is working with a group of custom homebuilders on homes. Homesites will start at one acre.The 5,000-acre Freestone community south of Dallas will include a golf course with club house.
“Members will have the opportunity to build custom homes within Freestone’s architectural guidelines, which are thoughtfully curated by the design team,” according to development’s marketing materials. “We haven’t found a property anywhere with a higher concentration of people within a two and a half hour drive,” said Todd Interests’ Patrick Todd. “It’s and hour and a half from the center of Dallas and an hour and a half from The Woodlands . It’s 10 minuties off Interstate 45.”“There is an air strip under construction on a site adjacent to the property,” Todd said. “We think it will be majority, if not all, secondary homes. We want a place where people can step out of the city.
