A group of rental developers are looking to tap into the growing city of Weatherford, about 30 miles west of downtown Fort Worth.

Fort Worth-based TruLife Communities and Advenir Oakley Capital have started site work on a 200-unit rental development, Leo at Bethel Place, just south of Weatherford High School on Bethel Road near Interstate 20. The development sits on about 30 acres.

The developers said the community is “well-positioned to capitalize on the recent growth the area has experienced driven by its proximity to Fort Worth, a thriving job market and its growing population.” As of 2021, Weatherford had a population of 33,710 residents after adding more than 7,000 residents since 2011, according to U.S. Census estimates.

TruLife Construction, an affiliate of TruLife Communities, is the project’s general contractor. The developers expect the project to be fully complete by December 2024, with the first units ready for residents by the end of the year. Advenir Living will manage the community. The units include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes. The one-bedroom homes will be 781 square feet will rent for $1,650 a month, and two-bedroom units will be 1,130 square feet and rent for $2,100 a month.
