12/01/2020Australia can expect to experience devastating bushfires "again and again," due to a "warming climate," according to Independent MP for the Victorian seat of Indi Dr Helen Haines Dr Haines told Sky News she was "pleased" to see Prime Minister Scott Morrison "absolutely acknowledge the impact that climate change is having on our nation right now".
Mr Morrison will aim to take the proposal to cabinet this week. "I was pleased to hear him talk about policy for climate adaptation," Dr Haines said. "We know that what we're seeing this summer is what we can expect to see again and again in a warming climate so we must put into action straight away how we are going to cope with that".
