Detroit's AssembleSound has selected 14 artists for its 2020 studio residency
Uribi, Mark Whelan, Michael Tocco, Jay Cribbs, Mayaeni, Gabriel Duran, Curtis Roach, Hala, Supercoolwicked, Kynzi, Primer, Thibault Ruellan and Tiny Jag.Assemble Sound, a Detroit-based music company that was founded in 2015 to help foster the careers of local musicians, has selected 14 artists for its 2020 studio residency, it was announced Monday .
The Assemble Sound studio residency is a year-long program geared toward artists who are focused on songwriting, production and/or performance full-time. Those selected are given free 24/7 access to Assemble’s four recording studios for the entire year. They also participate in weekly programs, ranging from song critiques to industry workshops. Participating artists retain 100 percent of the rights to the music they create during the residency.
