Bungie recently released a new trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, the Witch Queen, which contains tons of Easter eggs and lore references.
The upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, The Witch Queen, was recently teased with a brand new trailer that was chocked full of references to the game's lore and Easter eggs. The ongoing free-to-play multiplayer looter-shooter has remained incredibly popular even several years after its initial launch. Destiny 2 will continue to remain popular as the game's life cycle enters a new era with the anticipated expansion.
The Witch Queen was announced as the next Destiny 2 expansion back in 2021. The sixth major expansion for Destiny 2, the Witch Queen promises to introduce loads of new content including new weapons, new raids, new loot, and a new location - Savathun's Throne World. Savathun, the eponymous Witch Queen, is sister to Destiny 2's God of War and the Taken King.
What is most impressive, though, is that the trailer also contains references and Easter eggs to topics that were previously teased in the existing Destiny universe. For instance, players noted that the trailer references the final mission in the Season of the Lost, in which the player joins the returned Mara Sov to help exorcise Savathun's worm .
With all of these hints and teases in The Witch Queen trailer, and with the quality of the trailer, Destiny 2 fans are understandably excited for the new content to come. Certainly, many fans will spend even more time dissecting this trailer for more clues and Easter eggs as they wait for the expansion to drop. Until then, these hints are nothing more than theories, though fun to speculate.
