After Destiny 2's latest expansion, The Witch Queen, some players are upset that the Nightstalker subclass has suffered heavily from nerfs.

The release of Destiny 2’s new campaign The Witch Queen was accompanied by nerfs to the Nightstalker that leave the subclass almost unplayable. The Witch Queen is the first new campaign to be added to Destiny 2 since 2020, featuring an enemy that longtime fans of the franchise have been waiting to get in their scopes for years, Savathûn, the Witch Queen.

The Nightstalker is a subclass of Destiny 2's Hunter class based around Void usage that can be obtained after completing the quest The Nightstalker’s Trail. The Nightstalker is a very mobile, stealthy subclass perfect for filling a classic assassin, ninja, or other roguish archetypes. The abilities and gear it gives Guardians include invisibility, double and triple jumps as well as the ability to change direction mid-air, smoke bombs, and other features to support that style of play.

Hunter is very underwelming compared to Titans and Warlocks. The super is nice but but overall ability play doesn't click too well for me personally. I think the Heart of the Pack removal really hurt it more then anything. — Nick February 22, 2022 Heart of the Pack was an active, area ability that improved the armor, recovery, agility, and weapon haste of all affected allies. The buff lasted for 30 seconds and could be stacked up to three times. Keen Scout, meanwhile, improved a Guardian's sneak and sprint speeds considerably, making the subclass feel more mobile and ninja-like.

The launch of The Witch Queen campaign has gone very well, and Destiny fans are thrilled to have new content to explore. The changes that accompanied the release are not all bad, and could certainly be salvaged by some tweaks to certain areas. However, until some kind of change is made, Hunter players are going to be stuck with the short end of the proverbial stick as the other classes leave them behind in potency.
