Cleveland's eight-game win streak came to an end on Monday night against the Clippers.
After going up by 12 and looking primed for a ninth straight victory, the Cavs missed seven straight shots and committed three turnovers.
After that came LeVert’s 3-point airball and Garland’s missed layup. Then back-to-back miscues -- a telegraphed Garland pass and Garland’s lost-ball turnover. But throughout Monday’s fourth quarter, Garland reverted to last year’s bad habits, trying to do too much, overdribbling and too often settling.
But was there more Mitchell could’ve done to free himself from the Clippers’ stranglehold? Is there something he can put in the memory bank for next time? It may be in the team’s best interest to make Mitchell the primary closer. He’s got more experience in that role. He’s had more success too.
