Seven months after funding for the cameras was approved, there is no timeline for when the cameras will be purchased or when the policy for using and maintaining them will be developed. A spokesperson for the city’s IT department said it is working closely with Code Compliance to define technical requirements for the use of the cameras. “How the video will be stored and maintained is driven by multiple requirements to include applicable security, privacy, protected health information and Criminal Justice Information Services laws and standards,” the spokesperson wrote.
