DeSoto unveils first public art mural
The City of DeSoto now has its first permanent piece of public art.
The city commissioned an artist to paint a 30-foot high mural on the side of the DeSoto Civic Center. Local artist J-D Moore got the job. His painting shows people from all walks of life on a green background. He used a realistic style to make the figures relatable to people visiting the library, rec center and municipal courthouse. DeSoto Arts Commission Chair James Adams says they wanted to place the mural in a prominent position in town.
