Police on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with a homicide near Denver’s Baker neighborhood.
Homicide victim found in truck along I-25 in Colorado Springs was bound, gagged and injected with heroin
Police received a 911 call around 7:39 a.m. Sunday on reports of a shooting at the Sinclair gas station, 620 Santa Fe Drive. Responding officers found a man shot to death in the driver’s seat of a car parked at the gas station’s car wash, the court document states. Video footage from the gas station allegedly shows Rios-Avila arriving at the location on a bicycle and firing shots into the car before fleeing on the bike, police said.
Witnesses told police that Rios-Avila had talked about shooting the unnamed victim after learning he was being cheated on. Police located the suspect around 1:40 p.m. in the 400 block of Lions Street, hiding in a hole near a set of train tracks.
