Aussies have been issued a warning about a new online trend being spruiked by influencers that is leaving people “catastrophic” results.
Dr Stephen Liew, the federal president of the Australian Dental Association described the trend to news.com.au as “catastrophic, with severe long-term consequences”.“There is no world where making a health decision based on a 30-second social media video is a good idea.
Dr Liew said he was also concerned photo and video filters had created a warped perception of how normal teeth looked, particularly when it comes to whiteness. “We are essentially giving untrained members of the public a sharp instrument to hack off their own teeth,” he said.A post shared by Liz Claire 💃🏻 SELF LOVE
