Pro-Israel Democrats have launched an attack ad against one member of the infamous 'Squad.'
WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 15: U.S. Reps. Rashida Tlaib , Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez listen during a news conference at the U.S. Capitol on July 15, 2019 in Washington, DC. Despite facing fierce backlash, members of the ultra-progressive congressional group “The Squad” are continuing their strong criticism of the U.S.'s support for Israel.“Israel must stop this bombing,” Rep. Jayapal said. “This is collective punishment & war crimes.
Echoing these sentiments was fellow “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who on Thursday released a lengthy statement claiming Israel is responsible for “ethnic cleansing” which is being funded by American taxpayers. She also took aim at President Joe Biden’s leadership for scrutinizing the current Palestinian death toll.
“Instead of funding more bombs with American taxpayer dollars, our leaders should be calling for a ceasefire now, before this violence claims thousands more lives,” Rep. TlaibRep. Tlaib recently became the target of a scathing TV advertisement by pro-Israel Democrats criticizing her for failing to vote in favor of funding Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system while also voting against a resolution to condemn Hamas terrorists. Commenters on X cheered the effort to hold her accountable.
Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., and Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.Y., have also been highly critical of "Squad" members for advocating against U.S. support of Israel following the Oct 7 Hamas terrorist invasion.
