The Nevada Democratic Party is launching a legal effort against the independent candidate.
Nevada Democrats are suing to stop Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from appearing on the state's presidential ballot. The Nevada Democratic Party have argued in the lawsuit, expected to be filed in a state court, that because Kennedy, the son of former Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, is affiliated with other parties in other states, he violates Nevada's legal requirement for independent candidates running in a presidential election.
The independent has a strong anti-vaccine stance and, reports say, supports conspiracy theories such as the unsubstantiated beliefs that COVID-19 targets certain races, the 2004 presidential election was stolen by voter fraud, and there's a link between mass shootings and prescription drugs.Newsweek contacted representatives for Kennedy and the Nevada Democratic Party for comment by email outside normal business hours.
