Donald Trump visited Asheboro, N.C., Wednesday where he held his first outdoor rally since an attempt on his life during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last month.Speaking from behind a pane of bulletproof glass, Trump stuck to the same themes he’s long trumpeted: lambasting the “fake news” and criticizing President Biden, whom he’s no longer running against, for the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan .
“If they want to come back in they get an apology and we sign them up and they get their backpay,” he said. “The mandate stuff should’ve never happened.”Nearing the end of his address, Trump polled the crowd about whether he “should get personal” in his attacks in response to Barack Obama’s DNC address last night.“He was very nasty last night,” said Trump. “Should I get personal?” He asked the crowd, to big applause.
