Demidov is having a record-breaking season in the Kontinental Hockey League ( KHL ), surpassing the previous record for points in a season by a player under 20 years old. This accomplishment puts him ahead of Minnesota Wild superstar Kirill Kaprizov, who held the record previously. Demidov's impressive performance has solidified his position as the No.
1 prospect on Button's list. He was drafted fifth overall by the Montreal Canadiens in June after an exceptional year in the MHL circuit in Russia. During his draft year, he tallied 23 goals and 60 points in 30 games.Rounding out the top five prospects are two more defensemen: Zeev Buium (No. 4) of the University of Denver and Zayne Parekh (No. 5) of the Saginaw Spirit. Buium, a sophomore at Denver, won his second consecutive World Junior gold medal alongside Ryan Leonard, contributing two goals and six points in seven games. Parekh, drafted ninth overall by the Calgary Flames in 2024, also led his team to a championship in his draft year, playing a crucial role in Saginaw's first-ever Memorial Cup title
