Rick Deckard is one of the best Blade Runners in the franchise, but even he wouldn't stand a chance against the deadliest Replicant ever created.
While Deckard may be regarded as perhaps the best Blade Runner in history after single-handedly tracking down and retiring a small team of murderous, rogue Replicants in the original film, even he wouldn’t stand a chance against the series’ deadliest one: Elle.
Rick Deckard was introduced in 1982’s Blade Runner as a hardened LA cop with the Blade Runner Unit who was put on a special assignment to find and retire a small team of rogue Replicants before they infiltrated Tyrell Corp and got their hands on the founder and head of the company himself, Tyrell. Replicants were created with a three-year lifespan , and the team of rogue Replicants wanted to meet with Tyrell and force him to expand their lifespans.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Blade Runner’s Deckard Could Never Retire Elle In Blade Runner: Black Lotus episode 1 , fans are introduced to Elle, a Replicant who doesn’t yet know she’s a Replicant but who is clearly capable of incredible feats of strength, speed, and athleticism. Not only that, but Elle is inherently an expert fighter. In this episode alone, Elle takes on an entire gang of accomplished killers with nothing more than a katana.
Elle was made to kill, which also makes her unique in the world of Blade Runner. Replicant production was under pretty heavy scrutiny under Tyrell Corp, as humans were inherently distrustful of the artificial people. Sure, the Replicants were used as slaves which therefore made the lives of everyday people easier, but their mere existence freaked people out immensely. Not only did the Replicants look like humans, but they were faster and stronger than the average person.
Blade Runner shows that Deckard really wasn’t anything special. While he does take down the Replicants he was assigned to, he is nearly killed while doing so and actually only survives because of the good graces of the rogue Replicants’ leader, Roy. So, while he is a good Blade Runner who can more than hold his own when it comes to retiring normal Replicants, there is no way Deckard would be able to beat Blade Runner’s deadliest Replicant, Elle.
