It was not a mean breakup since we both knew it should have been over a while ago.
You can say it was not really romantic, but it was easy like a comfortable shoe. I’m not sad about it and go out on fun dates, but for some reason I still feel connected to my ex-boyfriend. I don’t know why. We are friendly but not really friends. Sometimes we still get advice from each other, and if something happens I want to be there for him. What is wrong with me that I still feel this connection? It sounds more like you just broke up eight days ago and the breakup is still settling in.
If the connection is one-sided, then I see one of two things. Either your feelings for him may be more than you really thought they were or you are beginning to see that he can be a good friend. Feelings for him at this point appear to be irrelevant. You both agreed it was not working. The friendship could work if that is something he may see as well.
As you continue to be friendly, it may grow into a real friendship, but do not force the situation. At this point, the ball is back in your court. There is nothing wrong with you for feeling the connection, but now you have to determine which scenario is the truth to answer the question: “Why do you still feel connected to your ex-boyfriend?”
