New attractions this year include a live show with live performers singing holiday songs on a stage while 60"kinetic LED balls" move in time with the music, plus a"light maze," a 3,600-square-foot maze made up of lighted six-foot-tall walls.Visitors will also find a giant, inflatable Yeti, bounce caves and a slide, and meet-and-greets with a forest guardian, a hedgehog and a living tree.
NeSmith said his company spent a lot of time last year running electricity to remote areas of the arboretum and setting up the basic infrastructure to deal with large crowds. The event is set up on the trails at the arboretum, some of which are paved and some of which are not, so there may be areas of Dazzling Nights that are inaccessible to visitors with mobility issues. and are sold on a timed basis, to keep the trails from getting too crowded. But once past the gates, visitors are free to go where they like and stay as long as they want.
