Outstanding golf, snorkelling, paddleboarding and hiking provide strong draws to this recreational property in Mexico.
Not surprisingly, the bigger-than-you-think Baja also boasts undiscovered places and, for a lack of a better way to put it, somewhat undiscovered places as well. Loreto and Danzante Bay fit comfortably into that latter category.
“The first place you’ll want to look for your seaside property is Danzante Bay,” says Hutchings, who currently lives in Cambridge, Ont., but spends as much time as possible on the Baja. “A perfect day for us here is a round of golf in the morning followed by some kayaking on the Sea of Cortez in the afternoon. In the evening, we’ll often close out our day with a glass of wine on the patio as the sun sets over the surrounding mountains.
Additional housing phases are also being planned and a large condo project — the Mantarraya Residences — near the private Owner’s Beach Club are also being offered. Two-bedroom units start at $460,000 USD and include private elevator access, 1,700 square feet of living space, parking and private pool, spa and barbecues for each building of 43 units. The condo project is currently 50 per cent sold.
“The amenities here are also a major selling point,” says Hutchings, who is in the middle of building his dream retirement home at Danzante Bay. “Eventually, we will be applying for permanent residency visas in Mexico and we hope to live at Danzante Bay year round. The beach, kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding, and hiking in and around the bay are absolutely amazing. And the quality of the golf course is definitely another main reason why we chose Danzante Bay.
