Most recently, young Canadians have again turned against Trudeau and, again, it’s for an obvious reason, this time their justified fear about rising interest rates, taxes, inflation and housing and energy prices, all linked to Trudeau’s heavy hand on the economy.
The Liberals have also flooded the economy with government money, which has increased deficits and debt and spurred inflation. Young Canadians, like the rest of us, have noticed that interest rates have shot up, along with levels of immigration, making all forms of housing more difficult to obtain.Article content
When it comes to voter intention, 43 per cent of 18- to 34-year-olds favoured the Liberals before the 2015 election. That number is now just 25 per cent. Poilievre is turning the tables on Trudeau when it comes to the politics of fear. There are few bigger motivations to act in life than fear. It’s so effective that you will rarely find a politician today who doesn’t use fear to rally his or her base and to demonize the opposition.
