Darwen pub The Black Horse listed for sale after sudden closure
The Black Horse, near the town centre, has again closed down at short notice and is now available for £225,000. The listing comes with the suggestion the pub could be converted into houses or flats but if it is to be retained in its previous use, the new owner will take over a community pub boasting two beer gardens and and private accommodation with four bedrooms.
According to Fleurets, which is handling the sale, the pub closed down this month and “may suit residential conversion” but would need planning permission for any such development. The pub is situated on a back road in a densely populated area and, as such, the majority of its business was traditionally drawn from the local area.In its current form, the main entrance opens into an open plan lounge bar area with t has fixed seating around the perimeter and a central bar servery.
The listing states: “The property may lend itself for change of use back into three terraced houses, or into a HMO, subject to planning. “There is a large piece of land at the rear that could be used for parking.”
