Rockies' Daniel Bard, pitcher who hit Jose Altuve in WBC, returns after dealing with anxiety issues
Bard was a promising young pitcher for the Red Sox before struggling in 2012, then getting designated for assignment the next season. He bounced around with five different organizations without making a big league appearance as heThree years later, Bard made a remarkable comeback, trying out for the Rockies at 35 years old in and being good enough to not only make it back to the big leagues but be named the National League's Comeback Player of the Year.
After coming forward about the return of his anxiety, Bard stuck around with the Rockies early in the season before going on a minor league rehab stint in which he threw 17 of his 23 pitches for strikes.
