A German shepherd was rescued by a DPS trooper on I-17 near Thomas Road Tuesday morning.
PHOENIX — A Good Samaritan found a dog hiding in a small cutout on the side of Phoenix's Lookout Mountain and if not for their immediate action, the dog may not have survived much longer, according to a statement by theThe 2-year-old Sharpei mix, now named Bright Eyes, was found April 24 stuck about half a mile up a narrow, slippery trail and the person immediately called the humane society which sent out two emergency animal medical technicians.
The dog was carried down the mountain due to her weak condition. She was taken to AHS’ Lazin Animal Foundation Trauma Hospital where she was treated."Although it is unknown how long or why she was there in the first place, this story is truly one of being in the right place at the right time," the statement said.
