Canadian speedskaters William Dandjinou and Steven Dubois continued their dominance on the ISU Short Track World Tour, claiming gold medals in Tilburg, Netherlands. Dandjinou, from Montreal, triumphed in the men's 1,500-metre race, while Dubois, hailing from Lachenaie, Quebec, secured victory in the men's 500. Dandjinou's impressive performance this season sees him lead the overall standings with 1,012 points.
He has won four out of five 1,500 races, adding two wins in the 1,000 and one in the 500 to his tally. In Sunday's 1,500 final, Dandjinou took the lead with six laps remaining, holding off a strong challenge from Dutch skater Jens van 't Wout to finish in 2 minutes 22.54 seconds. Dubois, meanwhile, clocked in at 40.313 seconds in the 500 sprint, edging out teammate Jordan Pierre-Gilles of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Dandjinou also participated in the 500 final but received a yellow card after a late pass attempt resulted in a crash involving two other skaters. Despite the setback, Dubois' consistent performances throughout the season, including three 500 wins, solidify his position as a top contender entering next week's final event in Milan
