Daily Faceoff Morning Report — 12/01/22
Auston Matthews kicked off the scoring as he extended his personal goal and point streak to three games . Pierre Engvall picked up the game-winner with three minutes to go, and Alex Kerfoot led all skaters with two assists in only 11:54 TOI. Aaron Dell played well in his first NHL start of the season, stopping 29 of 31 shots but ultimately picked up the loss.
Mattias Samuelsson picked up his first career goal in his 65th career game, while Jeff Skinner added the other Buffalo marker with a powerplay goal in the second period. Alex Nedeljkovic had a weak showing yet again, as he allowed four goals on 34 shots to move to 2-3-2 on the year. Detroit scored three third-period goals, including two from Oskar Sundqvist and two Andrew Copp assists . Filip Hronek also picked up a pair of assists and now has 12 points in his last eight games.
