Reggaeton stars Daddy Yankee and Sech issue a frosty kiss-off in new song, 'Definitivamente'
make a slow jam fit for the Tropics with their new single, “Definitivamente,” or, “Definitely.”
Underlined by a somber piano line, “Definitivamente” is pure reggaeton-and-blues — produced by hitmakers NeKxum and Ovy on the Drums, and mixed by Luny . Together, Yankee and Sech belt out bitter lines to their exes, hoping to be wiped from their memories completely. “Let’s read the last chapter and come to the end,” Yankee sings. “Lo que pasó, pasó,” adds Sech — “What happened, happened” — referring to the classic kiss-off track from Daddy Yankee’s 2004 album,. The glossy new music video for “Definitivamente” was filmed in Miami and directed by Marlon Peña, the mastermind behind Yankee’s viral video for ““Working with Sech was very spontaneous, organic”, Yankee said.
