Sale also tied the longest shootout in International Ice Hockey Federation history in the 13th round. Sale and Jakub Stancl scored for Czechia in regulation, while David Edstrom replied for Sweden .
Czechia's netminder Michael Hrabal made 32 saves, while Sweden's goaltender Marcus Gidlof made 30 saves. This marks Czechia's third consecutive podium finish at the world junior championship
