Cynthia Erivo, who stars in the highly-anticipated Wicked movie-musical out this fall, took to the 2024 Oscars red carpet with a bejeweled manicure that paired perfectly with her green dress and jewelry — all of which nodded to her upcoming role.
Cynthia Erivo is sure to be “Popular” on the Oscars red carpet with her bejeweled, negative-space manicure, which appears to be — you guessed it — “Defying Gravity.” Erivo turned the Oscars into the Oz-cars with a Louis Vuitton dress that nods — actually, more like screams and points — to her role as Elphaba, the famously-green witch.
And here's where the gravity-defying part comes in: By using what appear to be clear nail extensions and only painting certain areas with shimmery green polish, it appears almost as if the design is floating. Now that's some Wicked-good nail art.
