When the cyclist tried to confront the driver, the driver hit the cyclist with their vehicle, police said.

Victoria police are trying to find a motorist who spat at a cyclist and struck them with their vehicle.

Police said they were called to Douglas at Belleville about 5 p.m. March 17 after a cyclist reported they had been struck by a black SUV. Officers determined that the cyclist and driver first encountered one another a block away at Government and Belleville, where the driver spat at the cyclist through an open window.

They came together again at Douglas and Belleville. The SUV is described as black, possibly a Nissan or Saturn from 2010 to 2014 model, with B.C. Parks licence plates. It had pre-existing damage to the door on the driver’s side. Anyone with information is asked to contact Victoria police at 250-995-7654.
