Cypress Ranch outlasts Bridgeland in matchup of state-ranked volleyball teams

Cypress Ranch has only lost to No. 8 Tompkins and nationally ranked San Antonio Cornerstone Christian. The Mustangs were the only 16-6A team to beat Bridgeland last year, sweeping the Bears 3-1 in both matches. Three Bears finished with double-digit kills. Kennedy Kays led the team with 17, Olivia Waggoner had 16 and Raylee Schaffner 11. Molly McClure had the most assists with 25 and Lauren Baek was next with 22. Alice Volpe had 26 digs, Olivia Waggoner had 17 and Lauren McIntyre 13.
Bianna Muoneke’s back-to-back kills gave Cypress Ranch a four-point lead, 11-7, in the second set. After a timeout, the Bears went on a 5-2 run to tie it at 17. Waggoner’s kill put Bridgeland ahead for the first time in the set before the teams exchanged ties.
