has named Matt Morgan the district’s new chief operations officer on March 31. Morgan, currently the assistant superintendent of facilities and construction, will replace Roy Sprague, who retires in June.
Morgan comes to the position with 23 years of experience with Cy-Fair ISD under his belt, starting as the director of food service before becoming the assistant superintendent of support services and transitioning to assistant superintendent of facilities and construction in 2018, a district press release details.“I am honored to have been selected for this position,” Morgan said in the press release.
Previously, Morgan worked with both Victoria ISD and Rice University as the director of food service and associate director of food operations, respectively.as well as the addition of new transportation in the 2014 bond program.Sprague, the previous chief operations officer, is leaving the district after 26 years and a 42-year long career in architecture and construction of facilities, the press release states.
