Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Superintendent Mark Henry announced his retirement from the position of superintendent and the field of education.
As superintendent, Henry oversaw the implementation and passage of two bond programs from 2014 and 2019, totaling more than $3 billion in improvements for the district. Cy-Fair ISD started its first police department with Henry’s help. The district also bolstered its athletics leadership with hires Henry picked himself, leading the district to seven team state championship titles.
Henry began his educational career as a teacher in 1982, working his way up through administrative roles including middle school and high school principal. Henry was also known for his community involvement, serving as chairman of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce and currently holding positions as a trustee for the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation Leadership Committee and HCA Houston Healthcare.
