A group of leading German travel start-ups appealed to U.S. tech giant Google on Thursday to offer them easier terms on paying for advertising to help them ride out the coronavirus pandemic that has devastated their business.

“We hope we can work with them on a clearer policy that does the right thing for consumers and Google’s partners.” It also urged Google to offer a flexible way to restructure and postpone payment terms for advertising services and other fees incurred in the first quarter of 2020. Jarzombek spoke after unveiling a state programme that will invest 2 billion euros in German startups, working mainly with venture capital funds to ensure that funding rounds for promising companies succeed.
