Don Journeay seeks to transform the dormant Crystal Mountain ski hill into a vibrant all-season resort with a $10 million fundraising campaign.

Don Journeay , the owner of Bull Mountain Adventure Park, is aiming to revitalize Crystal Mountain , a ski hill that has been dormant since March 2014 following a lift malfunction that injured four people. Journeay relaunched the mountain under a new name in 2019, with the vision of restoring it to its former grandeur. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his plans, leading to the park operating at limited capacity in subsequent years.According to a newly launched website, CrystalResort.

ca, Journeay has secured a Master Development Agreement with the provincial government, granting him exclusive rights to over 7,000 acres. The master plan encompasses the development of an all-season resort featuring single-family lots, condominiums, hotels, and townhomes. The walkable resort aims to reopen the existing ski area with upgraded lifts and facilities. It will also offer warm-weather activities such as bike trails, ziplines, and more. The website states that the plan has received approval from the Regional District of Central Okanagan. Journeay has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to turn his dream into reality, seeking $10 million in funding. He intends to dedicate the year to fundraising for the project. Once sufficient funds are raised, the plan is to demolish the existing day lodge and construct a new one. Additionally, existing lifts will be improved, new lifts will be installed, and machinery such as snow cats will be purchased, along with other necessary amenities. In the second year, Journeay aims to complete the construction of a world-class sound stage and continue developing airsoft fields and courses
