A crowd gathered at Municipal Park for a rally for suspended Mobile Police Chief Paul Prine.

This comes just 4 days after the City of Mobile announced they were putting Prine on administrative leave.

With the ongoing friction, several supporters of Prine gathered for the rally Saturday morning. Prine greeted and interacted with attendees before addressing the crowd. “I thought those that were in leadership wanted me because they really wanted a job to get done but apparently, it’s not really about One Mobile or the job- it really is about these other things- the lust of power, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life,” said Prine. “You have to vote, you have to have the influence- and I’m not calling for anybody to be voted out. I’m just simply saying-- well, listen- I appreciate that, but we’re going to let the Lord lead that one.

“I’m out today supporting Paul Prine because he is the Chief that has the people, the heart of the people for the City of Mobile,” said Rena Chappa.Copyright 2024 WALA. All rights reserved.
