GENEVA — With soccer clubs losing revenue during the pandemic, one industry leader said Wednesday the idea of creating multi-nation leagues will be revived.
“It might not be sustainable to run so many clubs,” Baer-Hoffmann told reporters in a conference call. In 2016, newly elected UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said he supported national leagues staying independent.
