An alleged purse snatcher is considered violent and should not be approached, Toronto Police have warned.

Officers urged anyone seeing Valter Pereira Cabral, 29, of Toronto, to call 911. Officers were called Friday to a shooting in a park area around 11 a.m. at Brass Winds Place in the Mavis Rd.-Hwy. 401 area.The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Hammad Shaikh. Farhan Durrani, 34, of Mississauga, is charged. The victim and the accused are known to each other and there are no outstanding suspects, according to police.A 28-year-old man was shot in the leg in Greektown early New Year’s Day.The call came in at 5:37 a.m. at Logan and Fenwick Aves. Danforth Ave. was closed between Logan and Fenwick most of the morning.
